Environmental Responsibility

We have a designated Sustainability Team responsible for measuring the environmental impact of our business and reducing it.
This year we have:
- implemented a rubbish grading system to separate out all recyclable material
- set up a roof-top worm farm to process organic material
- set targets for improving our resource efficiently
- set targets for minimising our CO2 emissions
Already this has cut our waste in half. We have a number of new initiatives being implemented throughout the year targeting further waste reductions.
Clarus uses an international system for classifying sustainable products. Sustainable products have five inter-connected design requirements. Using this system we set policy for the following:
- our invoicing, banking & all other documentation is electronic where possible
- we use only recycled, TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) paper
- we have purchasing preference (with a price difference of up to 50%) for products that are manufactured locally, eco-friendly, built to last and recycled rather than new
